The Goal and My Why

They only thing I sell is Hope. And it’s always free. I don’t have sponsors. I’m fully self-supported. All the traveling, all the races I do – I’ve done on my own. I’ve done them to prove they can be done. I’ve done them to prove that if I can do them, so can you. From an early age, Hollywood glorified super-heroes in film, and those films inspired me as well as an entire generation. We all fantasized of greatness. We were inspired to believe we could be something more.

My cause is to help guide those who want to be more and get more out of life. There are winners, there are losers – and then there are those who haven’t found a way to win yet. We must lead by example. We must be the light within the darkness. We must prove to all there is a way back to the light, even in the darkest of times.

Excellence through athletics is part of my mind, body and spirit trinity. Belief in the self is the prime directive. A recognition that self-confidence, energy, focus, action and purpose are the driving forces behind success in life.

Running is a gift that promotes every single facet of my belief system. The physical, mental and emotional benefits of running far exceed that of any other sport. Ultra-running brings a new dimension of pain, purpose and resolve, that makes a person a better version of themselves. Something no drug can ever give you.

The short-term goal is to compete in over 500 Marathons – Ultramarathons – Ironman Triathlons by 2020.

The Plan: Run marathons – ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons in all 50 U.S. States and all 195 countries on Earth.

At 6’4″ and weighing between 240lbs and 270lbs, I’m one of the largest ultrarunners on the planet.
